A carer is someone who is looking after a relative, spouse, civil partner, friend or neighbour who cannot manage without help because of sickness, age or disability.
The term carer is defined in The Carers (Recognition and Services Act 1995) to apply to all adults who fulfil the above criteria. It does not apply to paid care-workers who provide services and or personal care.
Our Vision
To improve the lives of carers in Calderdale
Our Mission
To work with carers to:
Our Values
Delivery of our aims is based on the following fundamental values and principles-
Respect: We respect the individual and diverse needs and wants of all our carers, former carers and professionals and this extends beyond the standards set by legislation.
We respect the capability and competence of our people to deliver our services to the highest possible standards regardless of their roles and responsibilities. Our systems and procedures reflect this confidence.
We work to foster respect for our work throughout the diverse communities of Calderdale. We do this by continually monitoring and evaluating all of our projects, paying particular attention to levels of satisfaction from both our clients and stakeholders.
Stability and Reliability: We seek to maintain financial stability to ensure a seamless continuation of our services and robust and reliable administration, management and leadership. This ensures that we can provide flexibility in order to meet the needs of our service users.
Transparency and Accountability: Our systems and procedures are continually being reviewed and developed to provide transparency and accountability in all our services and activities to ensure that all our duties and responsibilities are met.
Direction: We are keen to see the Project develop so that we can continue to support as many carers as possible within Calderdale by-
Obtaining funding from a number of different sources to enable us to deliver a wide range of complementary and interlinking services.
Working even closer with statutory bodies, local providers and service users to ensure continuity and flexibility of a quality service which continues to meet the needs of carers in Calderdale.
Developing all our staff to enable a more robust team management and decision making structure to evolve, whilst retaining an element of flexibility in order to adapt to changing needs and conditions.
