The National Carers Strategy sets out a ten year vision that seeks to recognise carers as expert care partners.  Some of the aims include piloting schemes to improve the support offered by GPs to carers.

The Quality and Assessment Framework for GPs has encouraged GPs to work towards identifying and registering carers within their practice.

We can offer help, advice and support to help practices do this.

We can also provide training for staff on all matters relating to carers rights and issues.

The Project can offer a place that GPs can confidently refer their carers on to and feel secure that they will receive the support and information they need.  In some cases this can reduce the need for carers to rely on their GPs for support in their caring roles.

We are happy to work with any organisation operating in the health sector, as carers cut across all areas in health. So, whatever your area, we can help you identify and support carers, either in your own capacity or through our own well-established range of support.
