Involvement and Consultation section.
The Carers Project has recently been restructed so that involving and consulting carers is now an integral part of our work. There is no longer a worker dedicated to developing a carers forum and all project staff carry out work to involve carers.
As a project we want to make sure we are listening to your views on services, that we give you information when you need it, that we communicate with you in a carer focused way, and that we involve you and give you feedback.
There are already ways of being involved such as patient surveys from your GP practice, patient education programmes, expert patient programmes, the patient advice and liaison services and carers information sessions.
Carers information and consultation
sessions have been introduced before and after carers support
groups.
These sessions are open to any carer whether you currently attend the support group or not and are as follows:
First Tuesday in the month
2.30pm to 3.pm at The Ovenden Institute, in Ovenden.
First Thursday in the month 1.30pm to 2pm at Ellen Royd
Clinic in Elland.
Second Tuesday in the month 12.30pm to 1pm at Oddfellows Hall in Todmorden.
Third Wednesday in the month
12.30pm to 1pm at St Paul’s Church in Sowerby Bridge.
The project now attends lots
of meetings discussing carers issues and there are now more
opportunities for carers to become involved, so if you'd
like to get more involved and have your say in eg. The local
carers strategy group or the mental health link group, let
us know.
