Who we are
Calderdale Carers is a charity working to improve the lives of adult carers throughout Calderdale.
We offer a person-centred service to support you in your caring role and empower you through self-management.
Our experienced team members have a substantial number of years’ service with the organisation and are led by a Project Manager who has led Calderdale Carers for 20 years. The team also includes two Caseworkers, a part-time Counsellor, four Looking After Me tutors, a GP Development Worker, Operations and Administration workers. All of our team members are based at Rimani House and are trained to provide support to Carers.
Our Vision
To improve the lives of carers in Calderdale.
Our Mission
To work with carers to:
- Ensure they are provided with information
- Receive emotional support
- Have a break
- Maintain their own identity and health
- Have a voice and ensure that it is heard
Our services – an overview
We have up to date information about services, benefits and issues that affect carers. We can also allocate a caseworker to address specific needs and issues and help to access counselling where appropriate.
We offer regular carers’ support groups across Calderdale and a varied range of activities and courses designed to give carers a break and improve their own health and wellbeing.
We support carers aged 18-25 and have a dedicated worker for Young Adult Carers. This service offers specific activities and support focused on the needs of the age group.
We work in partnership with Calderdale Council to provide Emergency Backup Plans.
Calderdale Council offers Carers Needs Assessments to carers, to help them to identify their own needs and apply for support through a support plan, if they are eligible.
Please explore the menus on the left and right hand sides of the website to find out more about the services that we offer to carers and professionals.
